How to write an obituary
Writing an obituary for someone else is harder than writing your own. You are inside grief, working under a deadline, and trying to capture a life in a few hundred words.
This video walks through the canonical structure (announcement, life summary, family, service details, in-lieu-of), then how to add the one or two specific details that turn a generic obituary into a real one.
The Vigils obituary editor has religion-specific templates and a collaborative mode so multiple family members can edit at once.
